Adventure Time. My brother is a long time admirer of the show and introduced me to it. As a thank you I have created a portrait of him drawn in the same illustration style. If you haven't seen the show, you should check it out. I have included screenshots of the process below:

My idea is that they are playing hide and seek, maybe I should add a speech bubble to the digital version? I really enjoyed illustrating this in Adobe Illustrator, the variety of shapes really lend itself to vector art. I also utilized a textured brush and drop shadows to create a cut and paste look to the objects. I have attached the original sketch drawn with traditional mediums and the final vector version I illustrated in Adobe Illustrator.
gator illustration (hand drawn and colored in Adobe Photoshop) but then we decided that for the target market (researchers and scientist), we needed something more serious. So, for the main design element I created a photo manipulation of UF servers and an istock photo of binary code or keyword "data." Big Data is, straight from wikipedia, "a collection of data sets so large and complex that it becomes difficult to process using on-hand database management tools."
UFIT Contribution Report 2013 The University of Florida Information Technology (UFIT) Contributions Report is a two-sided, 28 page-long booklet, which I designed and formatted utilizing Adobe Illustrator and InDesign. In August, 2011, Vice President and CIO Elias Eldayrie presented the University’s Strategic Plan for IT. The University’s Strategic Plan for IT is a two-year “roadmap” work plan for the six governance areas of UFIT: Administrative Systems, Education and Outreach, Research Computing, Information Security and Compliance, Shared Infrastructure, and Web Services. A Contributions Report is produced annually and presented to the President and Board of Trustees. The Contributions Report outlines UFIT progress towards the goals identified in the plan.
